Web 2.0 is YOU!

     I believe that these emerging technologies will benefit literacy skills in people. Blogs can inform people with knowledge. Blogs can be another source of information over the internet. There are many ways people prefer to learn; personally I am a visual learner. Education Video can help people learn and is another good source for information. E-readers and E-books can benefit people who like to read. You can download a book and read without the weight of the book. The E-readers are more convenient than carrying books around with you. Emerging technologies has a huge positive impact on literacy.

      The Web 2.0 is challenging us to rethink ourselves because the web is linking us together. There are many ways to share information over the internet. We need to think about what we post or search over the internet. We need to keep an eye on what we post over the internet because anyone can see it. Family, friends, co-workers and even your boss can see what you have posted on Facebook, YouTube etc. Our education can be easier with the help of the web; we can easily search for information. We need to rethink ourselves because the web is linking us together.

Music Video Analysis

     The music video I have chosen to analyze is With You by Chris Brown. My immediate reaction on this video was that it was one of my favorite songs, Chris browns dancing also caught my attention, and Chris Brown has really improved from the past. I have never seen this music video in a long time and it brought back memories. I also noticed that Chris Brown's music has changed. They're many things that the music video that kept me watching, the camera work that panned along Chris while he dances. They also used slow motion and glowing effects to add more color and more meaning to the video.

     I think the musical made the music video because of the popularity the song has gotten. The song was played every day on every radio station. Videos that are popular tend to have a music video.  I think one of the themes of the music video is love, because Chris is singing a song about being with someone. The only gospel values I can see on the video are to love your partner and they are more important than anything.

     Some events that may have influenced the musical group to make the music video are is the fact that the song was so popular. The whole video works together because the song is about Chris wanting to be with this girl. The music video shows him sad and wanting to be with the girl. The slow motion also adds a dramatic effect. The glowing effects on his shirt and background make me focused on Chris Brown. The music video I have chosen influenced my reception of the song because the video gives a deeper meaning to the song.

    People are portrayed like this in the media because the media thinks being perfect is having that skinny body, or flawless face. The media has a big influence on people; the media tries to manipulate you, telling you to look like this. With the big influence on the media, they try to sell out products to people. I am affected by the images and videos I see because I have the power to either follow the media for follow who I am. When posting pictures, I can edit the photo and make me "perfect" or post it untouched. To reduce the amount of young men and women negatively affected by these images is by making images and posting them. For example you can post an image, with a photo saying "You are perfect the way you are" or "God has given you a gift" etc. to positively affect young men and women. I can't imagine a magazine where the person in front does not have make-up or is half dressed. I know it is right to have magazines where people are themselves; it could be a possible route that society should take.

To Share or Not to Share

    My personal opinion towards file sharing is that it is wrong. I still download music, videos etc. online because I do not have the money to buy them legally. I think it is wrong because producers make the movie, music and try to sell them for money, but we download the product free online. In other terms downloading online is stealing, and stealing is illegal. I would have the same opinion if I were to produce my own piece and sell it. But I would buy other peoples pieces, because I want people to buy my pieces. I think it is wrong to download music, videos etc. even if it is for personal use, because you are still stealing.

Career Mash - Power Engineer

The career I determined that I could work best in is Power Engineering. Engineering involves a lot of the traits including builders, innovators, leaders, problem solvers etc. Power engineering deals with the generation, transmission and distribution of electrical power. College is needed in Alberta to go in the fields of Power Engineering.

Screw it, Im texting.

     Texting while your in a social situation is fine. I believe that texting opens new doors for socializing with other people. What if the women paying for her groceries was texting her husband to start the car and wait for her at the front, it is a faster and more convenient way to talk to another person. But I also believe that texting shouldn't be your main priority, for example, you shouldn't text a lot at a party  for you are missing opportunities to meet and bond with people.

     Although it is rude for somebody to proceed texting continuously on their cell phone while your talking to them, it is a good strategy to ignore the person. There is a situation where your brother is nagging on doing his chores, but you continue to ignore his voice by pulling out your phone. Another situation is having a conversation with your friend, until the awkward silence approaches when you have noting to talk about, you don't want to just sit there and do noting, so you pull out your phone and pretend to text or check for text messages.
     
     The 5 rules of texting is you should not text someone in the same room, this a simple rule, but is broken all the time. Another rule is do not join group texts with 5 more more people, unless you want your phone to vibrate and ring every second. Another rule would not to multitask while texting, do not text and drive at the same time. Do not spam random texts especially chain letters to your friends, unless you want black eyes. The last rule really applies to me, you need to reply fast when you receive texts, and not wait a couple days to reply or your friends will never text you again.
